Hrefna and Karen are assistants for GG. Hrefna started working for GG in the summer 2021 and Karen in the summer 2022. As they are young, this is their first real job and they really like it. "We are both from Húsavík.
WHAT A MONTH! So far June has been spectacular! Good weather or bad weather, day or night, the bay was full of life! We got to see a variety of species: feeding humback whales in big numbers, blue whales, playful white beaked dolphins with babies, minke whales, and seals every now and then.
The 5th biggest island in Iceland, Flatey - the Flat Island - has welcomed yesterday more than 80 passengers from the luxury cruise ship "Silver Seas" for the grand opening of the long-time dreamed facilities that could host sheltered events around the tables.

Soon happening! On Friday April 1st our 2022 season officially starts with daily departures from Húsavík: GG1 Whale Watching – traditional oak boats. GG2 Big Whale Safari – modern RIB speedboats. We are all looking forward to get out on Skjálfandi Bay again searching for the gentle giants.
Today we participated in the Mannamót Natural Iceland Travel Trade show in Reykjavík. Due to COVID the trade show had not been held since early 2020 so it was very nice to be back. Stefán and Daniel represented GG with great success.

March has come and now it is only one month until our season starts on April 1st. We are looking forward to begin our 21st season, head out on the bay again and welcome you on board with us. Speaking of missing the sea – our passenger Rebecca recently shared with us memories from her whale watching tour with Gentle Giants and how it positively affected her life.
Our hometown Húsavík is a charming destination. Along with the world-famous whale watching, it also offers many other activities and attractions. We want our guests to enjoy their stay in Húsavík and indulge in the local spirit.
