The first humpback of the year was encountered yesterday - on both tours. Today, in the morning, we saw it again, as well as a minke whale. These are two of the biggest species we consider as common in our bay during the whale watching season.
From 15th April we run two whale watching tours scheduled daily at 9:45 and 13:15. This is also the time when we expect the puffins to arrive so keep your eyes open for The Clowns of the Ocean while at sea.

The sun was shining bright and the sea completely calm when we left Húsavík harbour this morning. Passengers from France, Iran, Lebanon and Greece accompanied us on this very first tour of the year.
Everything is completely set for tomorrow's whale watching tour - the first one of the year. Captain Kalli, Daniel and I are all looking a lot forward to enter Skjálfandi Bay tomorrow morning.
