Soon happening! On Friday April 1st our 2022 season officially starts with daily departures from Húsavík: GG1 Whale Watching – traditional oak boats. GG2 Big Whale Safari – modern RIB speedboats. We are all looking forward to get out on Skjálfandi Bay again searching for the gentle giants.
Today we participated in the Mannamót Natural Iceland Travel Trade show in Reykjavík. Due to COVID the trade show had not been held since early 2020 so it was very nice to be back. Stefán and Daniel represented GG with great success.

March has come and now it is only one month until our season starts on April 1st. We are looking forward to begin our 21st season, head out on the bay again and welcome you on board with us. Speaking of missing the sea – our passenger Rebecca recently shared with us memories from her whale watching tour with Gentle Giants and how it positively affected her life.

Humpback whales are often considered one of the main sightings in Skjálfandi Bay and the stars of the tours, for a good reason of course. Others though also deserve attention and in the past years, a broader variety of species have been visiting the bay, to much delight of passengers and crew getting to experience different types of whales.
A new year has arrived and we are excited to see what 2022 will bring. But before leaving 2021 behind, we would like to take you on a journey through our highlights of last year, where we celebrated our 20th year.
