AMAZING WHALE PERIOD
The whales have been many recently - blue whales and humpbacks included. The weather is nice and the forecast is good as well. Top whale watching these days with other words!It is always fun when our tours exceed our passengers’ expectations - and even better when they express their satisfaction after their experience with us.

THE BLUE WHALE IS BACK - MAY 17
What a morning! The passengers and crew on our 9:45 tour were very lucky. On this trip we encountered three humpback whales and the first blue whale of the year! The weather was great and people happy.

HUMPBACK WHALES IN SKJÁLFANDI
We have been lucky with the amount of humpback whales that feed in Skjálfandi Bay, in recent years and lately. They are great gentle giants to watch as they almost always raise their beautiful flukes up in the air before a deep dive, which is a breath-taking moment every time it happens.

WHALES AND RECORD HOLDING BIRDS
May has so far been a good month whale-wise. Some tours have been extraordinary, like the other day when six minke whales were encountered during one single tour.That happened on the same day as we spotted the first arctic terns for this year.

BEGINNER'S LUCK ON RIB
Orcas, humpback, puffins, flat sea and sunshine - all experienced from aboard a RIB. What more can you ask for?This describes well what our employee manager Hanna Sigga, who is currently also finishing her captain’s license, yesterday got to experience during her first real Big Whale Safari behind the wheel.

BIG WHALE SAFARI IS BACK
From 1st May we will finally start with RIB tours again, according to schedule. The Big Whale Safari departs daily at 12:30, throughout May.On board our RIBs you have an even greater chance to encounter the gentle giants as we, thanks to the speed, can cover a much greater area in search for whales than any of the oak boats in our bay.

ORCAS ENCOUNTERED THIS MORNING
A group of orcas was encountered on the 9:45 tour today. Our guide Þröstur estimated that they were around 15-20 individuals. “It was difficult to count them, there were dorsal fins everywhere!” he said.

GREAT EASTER WHALE WATCHING
The first humpback of the year was encountered yesterday - on both tours. Today, in the morning, we saw it again, as well as a minke whale. These are two of the biggest species we consider as common in our bay during the whale watching season.
