LIFE BENEATH THE WINTER WAVES
November has a way of slowing everything down, transforming Skjálfandi Bay into a quiet little wonderland.
The short days give the light a soft, almost magical touch. Sometimes, the sun and moon share the sky, painting the water with delicate shades of colour. It’s a special kind of light that makes even familiar places feel wonderfully new.
And the whales are still here, gracefully moving through the bay in search of food. Watching them in this peaceful setting feels truly mesmerising — powerful yet serene.
Imagine them breaking the quiet of the bay with their loud, powerful breath, their movements so elegant and effortless, yet their presence so immense and powerful: A reminder of all the mysterious life beneath the surface and the privilege of being out there to witness it every of these moments.
The winter cold seems to freeze the moment, like a picture captured in a frame, turning it into yet another unforgettable memory. The camera snaps a photo, and then, just like that, the whale’s flukes disappear below the surface. Life underwater carries on, even in the coldest months!
Why not join us these days while we still head out on our GG1 Whale Watching once a day at 10:15? After all, the sea has always stories to share...
