HAPPY WORLD OCEANS DAY

Humpbacks from above

Today we celebrate "World Oceans Day". This day is there to remind on the importance of the oceans to all life on Earth.

The oceans cover over 70% of our planet and are home to most of earth's biodiversity - and we have only yet explored a small amount of it. Most of it is still unexplored, untouched, unseen...

Collectively, the oceans are the largest ecosystem, holding 99% of all habitable space. Furthermore, they produce at least 50% of our oxygen.

With the theme "Planet Ocean: Tides are Changing" this year's "World Oceans Day" events are celebrated. Clearly, our existence depends on the oceans and it is important to cherish and sustain its bounty and vibrancy as well as to protect and restore its well-being and balance.
