SKJÁLFANDI BAY MAKING IT INTO THE NEWS: ABOUT 30 HUMPBACKS IN THE BAY!
As the number of whales has reached incredible counts during the last days, Skjálfandi Bay has made it into the news: RÚV published an article earlier this afternoon, telling about the unbelievable ongoings in the bay.
Hermann Dađason, captain on our oak boat Sylvía, told the press that exceptional many humpback whales were seen during our recent whale watching tours - about 30 individuals must have been around the past days!
But not only the whales, also the weather has been in our favour: in beautiful weather and calm seas, we could so far sail every day in November and the weather forecast for the upcoming days looks just as promising!
Today, our final week of whale watching in 2019 has started and it looks like we'll be able to finish this season in a glorious way!
