GENTLE GIANTS TOUR RECEIVES THE GETYOURGUIDE AWARDS 2019
Gentle Giants' tour Big Whale Safari & Puffins was named one of the top "Water Adventures" in Europe in the second annual GetYourGuide Awards for incredible travel experiences. GetYourGuide, the booking platform for incredible travel experiences, offers more than 50,000 travel activities in 7,600 destinations worldwide. The annual awards, announced on October 30th, recognize the best and most exclusive experiences on the platform FastCompany called one of the Most Innovative Companies of 2019.
The Big Whale Safari & Puffins tour was selected as the "Water Adventures" based on a competitive selection process. GetYourGuide's network of destination experts nominated their best local experiences in thousands of destinations across key categories and regions. A panel of judges analyzed and scored nominations against a rigorous set of standards including average review score, consistent customer service excellence, uniqueness of activity, and contribution to the local community. The Big Whale Safari & Puffins is a tour from Húsavík, often recognized as the "Whale Capital of Iceland" It is on board modern RIB speedboats and offers a higher chance of spotting whales due to the speed and manoeuvrability. Thousands of guests visit Húsavík annually in the search for the giants of the ocean. Gentle Giants is a family-run company with more than 150 years of family history in Skjálfandi Bay.
