Earlier this season we posted an article about the Arctic Coast Way, which was ranked as one of the top places to visit this year. The Arctic Coast Way is Iceland’s first official tourist route and was opened in June 2019. Húsavík is located along the named route and one should definitely not miss planning in a stopover in our cosy town, which is also called Iceland’s Capital for Whale Watching. From here, you can book various adventures to explore the beauty and wildlife of Skjálfandi Bay.

A group of journalists from Forbes visited us a short while ago as they travelled along the Arctic Coast Way, exploring all what the route has to offer. As part of their travel, the journalists joined us on a GG2 Big Whale Safari and Puffins tour, which is operated on our modern RIB speed boats:

“With the Gentle Giants Whale Watching tour that leaves from the harbor in the town of Husavik, you suit up in protective overalls to take a wave crashing ride on a RIB boat to look for whales. As you hold on to the handles, you search the picturesque bay, home to several migrating whales and dolphin species that you have a chance of spotting while on the tour. You may see mammals like humpback whales, minke whales, sperm whales, orcas, or white-beaked dolphins.”
