SUPPORTING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Húsavík is a small town with only a couple of thousand inhabitants. Nevertheless, it got a huge community. Many people are connected in a lot of different ways. By coming here, you would be surprised of how vibrant and lively the atmosphere is here in town. Especially during the summer months. The amazing wildlife we have around brings thousands of people to Húsavík every single day in the mid-summer. Then there are all the other things on the side, which is also a part of the big personality that this tiny town has.
Like the local golf club of Húsavík. “Golfklúbbur Húsavíkur” was established in 1967. It is one of the many activities one can do in town. Golf is the second biggest sport in Iceland. It is fantastic that locals and visitors have the opportunity to play this popular sport here. The golf field which is called “Katlavöll” is located just a few kilometers south of Húsavík, with beautiful surroundings and a view of the town. Gentle Giants is happy to be able to contribute to the local golf club. In the picture below, you can see the gift we gave to “Golfklúbbur Húsavíkur”. Four golf sets that the club says will come in handy, and is very much appreciated.
