COMING BACK TO WORK WITH GENTLE GIANTS NEVER DISAPPOINTS!

Breaching humpback

When you decide to move for the first time to Iceland in order to work as a whale-watching guide, it is something vocational. You know that it will be a tough life: your summer will be colder than you are used to; working on board in bad weather conditions tests your courage; and you are far away from everything you know. But you forget about these obstacles when you see your first humpback whale. I will never forget my feelings on my first trip, and I was so grateful for being allowed to see such an amazing animal every single day, that I knew immediately that I was going to come back next year.

It is not only about humpbacks, other species, the views, the mountains, and definitely, being more related with nature and wildlife in this beautiful country are the reasons why I love this.

Now in my second season and after only two days here, I could see all the main marine mammal species in Skjálfandi Bay and a big amount of individuals, not forgetting about breaching humpback whales, what is the most stunning situation we can enjoy. I also had a great time in Flátey Island, which is a paradise for birds lovers.

I would never get tired of this, don’t hesitate to come visit us!!
