LOCAL STUDENTS LEARNING WHALE WATCHING WITH US

Whale Watching, Students, FSH, Gentle Giants Whale Watching, Gentle Giants, Húsavík, Iceland

This energetic group of students from the local upper secondary school went with us on the afternoon whale watching tour today. They take a specially developed Whale Watching Guide course, unique for their school here in Húsavík – the Whale Capital of Iceland.

Our assistant manager Daniel, who has been working for Gentle Giants since 2001 and has a bachelor degree in International Tourism Management, took an active part in developing this unique course curriculum together with the school. He has also held several guest lectures for this class during the past months on topics like tourism in general, whale watching and customer service.

The school term is soon coming to an end and as a part of this exciting course, Gentle Giants invited the students whale watching on board our oak boat Sylvía this afternoon. Together with captain Pétur, guide Miro and other passengers from all over the world they encountered white-beaked dolphins and a minke whale on the tour.

We now wish them all the best for the future!
