WHALES DANCING IN THE RAIN

whale surfacing right next to boat

September has arrived and the weather keeps changing a lot from sunshine to rain and back to a blue sky. However, whale-wise the month isn't disappointing at all as the humpback whales are still frequenting the bay!

Also yesterday and today whales were showing themselves from their best side, making it totally worth it to brave the rainy weather. Whilst one whale kept jumping and tail-slapping over and over again in the early morning (and entertaining numerous boats therewith), another kept approaching our boats in the afternoon whenever back up on the surface. In the meantime another individual repeatedly lifted its fluke majestically above the surface when going back down for a dive and right before disappearing below the surface, it would wave its fluke back and forth like telling us goodbye.
