TOURIST GUIDE STUDENTS VISIT US

Yesterday we had a nice visit from a class of Chinese tourist guide students from the Icelandic School of Travel and Tourism. They were on a field trip and we invited them out for whale watching to experience what Húsavík and Gentle Giants has to offer.
The group was happy with their whale watching tour and enjoyed the presence of three minke whales – or 小须鲸 as they are called in Chinese.
In the last years, the number of Chinese tourists coming to Iceland has increased. They were on the 7th place of top nationalities visiting Iceland in 2015 according to the Icelandic Tourist Board, and are predicted to increase even more this year. It is therefore great to have qualified Chinese tourist guides in Iceland and we are happy to take part in their training.
