UNPREDICTABLE NATURE

This season we have been luckier with both whales and weather than we remember any year before, though the last days have not been quite as successful as we are now used to. Of course (as we tell everyone who asks) nature is unpredictable and the conditions in the bay change really fast. Even though we have seen some species on one tour, it can be completely different on the next - there is always a chance, but also a risk...

Yesterday our whale watching tours started off with luck (dolphins, bottlenose whales and minkes) but in the early afternoon it somehow became very difficult. We told everyone who was thinking of going whale watching about the conditions and at 19:00 the Big Whale Safari went out full with people who had decided to give it a try even though they knew it could be hard. Their courage paid off through two beautiful humpback whales – one of them jumping several times.

That is just how nature is sometimes - like a roller coaster up and down and that is also what makes whale watching so exciting - that no two tours are the same.
