AN AMAZING EVENING ON FLATEY

Except for regular whale watching options, puffin tours and sea-angling we also organise special trips upon request. Two nights ago we brought a group of Scandinavians over to Flatey for an evening of peaceful adventures.

When Faldur had docked at Flatey our chefs from restaurant Salka started preparing the food while Daniel and I guided our guests around the isle. We went to the beautiful church (where the wedding was held last year which we helped organising), we went into the lighthouse and enjoyed all the bird life. The peace makes more than 30 species of birds nest on Flatey each summer, so it is a real paradise for the one who is interested.

In the same moment we finished our stroll the food was ready; gorgeous lamb meat with potatoes, salads and sauces and we ate on our porch which is built only for this purpose.

When it started getting dusky we left the island happy and satisfied, ready for some whale watching. The sea was calm and we saw seven humpbacks on the way. Two whales were feeding together and they came up simultaneously close to our boat. One woman hugged us with teary eyes and thanked for the beautiful memories which she said she will keep with her forever. Seldom is a whale watching guide happier than then.

If you want to experience a night like this we are open for any suggestions. The limitations of possibilities are up to your imagination...
