GG AIM: TO RAISE INTEREST

It feels so good when passengers come back up to the Ticket Centre after a tour just to share their stories, to tell us how happy they are that they went or walk past with a smile on the face and two thumbs up.

A few minutes ago there was a man rushing into the Ticket Centre who just arrived back from the 12:00 tour. He was focused on his camera; scrolled and searched among all the pictures taken. I had already heard from the guide what the lucky people onboard had got to witness but waited patiently to see it on photo...

He found his favourite one, smiled to me and turned the camera. On the screen I saw a huge humpback jumping; a big whale breaching. “Woow...”  I exclaimed and really meant it. He had been lucky, and he knew it.

Those are the moments when I know that we do something really good. Gentle Giants’ aim is to raise general awareness in whales and their habitat. This man was taken by his nature experience when watching whales in the wild with us. He was fascinated and wanted to share this experience. That - my dear readers - is our aim. Today we succeeded again.
