No two trips are exactly the same, but after a period of bad weather (like it has been those last days) we really have no idea of what creatures the storm has washed into the bay. The humpbacks were very calm; floating still along the side of the boat, whereupon captain Bessi switched of the engine. That gives a possibility to listen to nature without any disturbance. You hear nothing but every detail of the whales’ powerful breaths and the slowly dripping sound from water running off their raised flukes during a dive. “I reached my hand out just for fun, and the whales were nearly touchable” an exited Danni said on the phone when they had left the gentle giants after a long time.

Captain Bessi dreamt about humpbacks last night. Whether he is clairvoyant or not I can not say - but one thing is for sure; experiencing two humpbacks the way they did today, that is to live the dream!
