2 HUMPBACKS IN THE CALM AUTUMN WEATHER

After a few days of bad weather and cancelled tours, it had finally got better around midday and therefore captain Alli decided to go out on the 13:15 tour to explore the bay and what it had to offer after the storm – the only whale watching boat that sailed out from Husavik.

Two humpbacks were spotted and they showed themselves well for our passengers. Those are very good news and hopefully they will stay here longer. This is however, quite unusual for this time of year, to see humpback whales. They arrive in the spring time to the coastal waters of Iceland to feed. In the autumn they migrate south to warmer waters – the Caribbean, where they spend the winter months.
