DIVING WITH THE WHALES

Yesterday we had a nice visit from Wade and Robyn Hughes, who are experienced divers. We took them out on both our boats at 16:45, where Wade did several attempts to dive with the humpbacks. The humpbacks were feeding and swimming and diving for a long time. Wade still however, tried a few attempts diving with them in beautiful weather conditions. At the end of the tour a blue whale was also seen.

Wade comes from Australia but is currently living in New York, with his wife Robyn. He has been scuba diving from the age of 12 years and has dived in seas around the world, such as by Tonga and the Azores. He has dived with sperm whales, fin- and sei whales. Wade is a member of the Explorers Club and a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

It is not his first time diving in Iceland; he has dived by the Westmann Islands and Jökulsárgljúfur before and is planning on coming back to visit us later this summer!
